A one-of-a-kind ceramic dish, created by Jacqueline Leighton Boyce especially for Petersham Nurseries.
An informal arrangement of dahlias in soft yellow and muted pink is delicately painted within a simple vessel, set against a wash of blue-grey and warm cream. Fine, expressive brushstrokes capture the flowers' slender stems and radiating petals, while the gently raised, frilled edge lends a sculptural quality to the oval form.
With its subtle palette and beautifully irregular finish, this individual piece brings together Jacqueline's distinctive botanical illustration and expressive approach to ceramics.
