Polygonatum variety - Solomon's Seal, shade loving with slightly arching stems with small clusters or creamy white flowers.

Polygonatum like a fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in a partially shaded location.  Once established, if left undisturbed Polygonatum will naturalise well. Apply a mulch of well-rotted leaf mould or garden compost in the spring. Cut down to the ground in autumn. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring, taking care not to damage new shoots when replanting.
